Beaver Colony
Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest section in the Scouting family. They can move to the next section, Cub Scouts, between seven years and six months and eight years six months.
There is currently a waiting list for this section. Please contact the Beaver Leader to add your child's name to the waiting list.
Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.
Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise Sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres.

Uniform
Milton Beaver Scouts wear:
- Beavers T shirt, available from the Beaver Leader, Theresa Feetenby.
- Beavers sweatshirt. The sweatshirt can be obtained from The Cambridge Scout Shop or Robert Sayles.
- Woggle and scarf. These are available from the Beaver Leader or the Cambridge Scout shop.

Moving up to Cubs
Bob Pain, the Cub Scout Leader, normally comes to a couple of Beaver meetings prior to your child going up. On the Friday that your child starts he will be there to meet them.Your child will continue to wear their Beaver uniform when they first go up to Cubs. Once we have established that your child is happy at Cubs, they can wear the Cub T-shirt and sweatshirt. When your child is invested into Cubs, they will be given their new badges.
